A LIFETIME COMMITMENT OF PRAISE
I will praise you as long as I live. And in your name, I will lift up my hands.— Psalm 63:4
Aside learning about personal praise devotion as focused on our previous article, I want you to learn about a lifetime commitment of praise from our theme scripture. This has to do with the duration of practice. David says in our theme verse, "As long as I live". You don't praise him when convenient or on times that look nice while on some other days you feel like not praising him. It's got nothing to do with your feelings. This is for all the days that you are here on the earth and hereafter you continue to praise him. So it is a lifetime commitment of love towards God, lavishing God with your love through praises. There is no retirement in praising God. Your life of praise is not conditioned to your circumstances. Don't allow whatever happens to you extinguish the fire of praise on the altar of your heart towards the Lord. Hebrews 13:15 AMPC enjoins us, "Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name." Let your heart always burn with praises to God. God instructed the priests, "the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go out to" (Leviticus 6:12). Now your heart is His altar and never allow praise to cease.
