No notable transformation can occur in your life without the catalytic intervention of the Holy Spirit. The underlain portion of our theme verse shows that the Holy Spirit catalyzes transformation. The word of God without the Holy Spirit will not produce in your life the necessary renewal of your mind that yields the desired transformation in your life. A seed only produces with the right environment. The word of God is seed and the Holy Spirit provides the conducive environment. Gen 1:2 says "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters". This was the conditioning of the Holy Spirit for the word which God would speak to produce the changes during creation. Luke 1:35 records the amazing response of Angel Gabriel to Mary solving her puzzle on how she would get pregnant while a virgin. It says, "And the angel answered and said unto her, the Holy Ghost, shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore, that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God". Mary conceived by the Spirit. And this means she received the word brought by the angel in an environment of the Holy Ghost overshadowing her. This further underscores that no God-desired transformation will happen in your life without the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
