APPRAISE YOURSELF

Levie Gomagoma 2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2 Corinthians 13:5

Periodical personal or corporate appraisal is necessary for enhanced productivity. This is mid-year and it's vital to do assessment of progress made so far at personal, organization or ministry level. The Living bible rendering of our theme scripture says, "Check up on yourselves" while the Message version indicates, "Give yourselves regular checkups". It is necessary to check your progress in life. Quality results will not come just by wishing but by deliberate action taking advantage of the prophetic word God gave us and His abundant grace. From your appraisal you may re-confirm, refine, re-plan, or re-strategize your operations. Focus your appraisal in all areas of your life. Remember our first article in this year was about writing the vision. This is the right time to appraise if you are really moving in the right direction to achieve the vision. May be you haven't made any movement since the year started, let me bring to your attention the words the Lord said to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 2:3, "Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward". This shows you that He is a God of progress. Don't get stuck in life. Don't procrastinate, it's time to move.

One time the building of the temple in Jerusalem halted amidst discouragement even from fellow Jewish people. However the Lord reassured the leader of the project Zerubbabel saying, "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it" (Zechariah 4:9). You may be facing challenges today, take heart, your hands will finish the project gloriously. Today the Lord is renewing your strength. You will finish strong by the Holy Spirit. Don't trust the arm of flesh which fails.

Whatever result of your appraisal, have the vision in perspective. Don't be discouraged because of negative outcome or become complacent due to yester progress made. Like Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:14 say, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus". Continue to press on to the finishing line. His grace is sufficient for you.

Confession
I press on towards the fulfilment of the vision God gave me. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
