The opening scripture is about Joseph who was sold into Egypt by his brothers because of hatred and envy. He found himself as a slave in Potiphar's house. Later he was falsely accused by Potiphar's wife and he was thrown into jail. These were afflictions in his life. But our theme scripture says, "And the Lord delivered him out of all his afflictions". In your journey to fulfill God's destiny you will have challenges but don't fear. Psalm 34:19 declares, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all". Just like he delivered Joseph, He will deliver you and you will experience the victory of Christ. Aside the deliverance, God gave Joseph favour before authorities. The voice of God's grace in favour kept speaking for Joseph before authorities until he was remembered and was called to go before Pharaoh. You may not have all key attributes required but God's favour gives you the access. This is the force that makes others like you and want to associate with you.

1 Samuel 16:21-23 (NIV) records about David, "David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers". This was favour at work. Men will just like you and will grant you unusual accesses. Adding onto favour, our theme scripture tells us that God also gave Joseph wisdom. This is important because favour grants you access but wisdom empowers you for excellent performance and productivity. It's not good to have access and not know what to do and act foolishly. With this wisdom Joseph gave interpretation of Pharaoh's dream and also provided actionable, practical guide as preparation for the imminent famine.

About David 1 Samuel 18:14 says "And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him." While David was favored by King Saul, he also acted wisely. Wisdom is the principal thing. These three elements, God's deliverance, favour and wisdom, were instrumental in Joseph's journey to becoming prime minister in Egypt. These are pivotal as you fulfil God's destiny for your life.
