But Jesus told him, "Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God."— Luke 9:62 TLB
In the pursuit of vision fulfillment there are many things you face along the way and some of them are distractions. It is always important to detect which ones are distractions. It doesn't have to look bad or sinful to be a distraction. Sometimes good things can be distractions. It is not everything which is good which you are supposed to be involved in. A well-paying job could be a distraction to the fulfillment of God's call on your life. Don't make your decisions on the basis of your physical senses approval only. Proverbs 14:12 records, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death". Be guided of the Lord always. Anything that takes you away or disturbs you from fulfilling your purpose is a distraction. Distractions diminish your focus on the goal. The Apostles in Acts 6:2-3 NLT said "We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility". Running the food program was good but would have been a distraction to their core divine call and purpose. That is what the Lord Jesus was communicating in our theme verse. God wants you to stay focused on what He has called you do. To fulfill the vision you must have the discipline of focus. Don't allow things that will compromise your focus in your journey of purpose fulfillment.
