In our previous study we learnt about the universal law of sowing and harvesting. While you are encouraged to always stay conscious of that law and leverage on it for your advancement, God has put a special grace in His divine providence that causes one to reap without sowing. The difference here is that the one harvesting is not the one who sowed. This means that sowing still took place but by the labours of others. Therefore, this special grace provision doesn't negate or invalidate the law of sowing and reaping. For a wisdom-balance, make sure you always recognize and leverage on the law of sowing and harvest and also fully embrace this grace provision of entering into other people's labours. The Complete Jewish Bible rendering of our anchor scripture says, "I sent you to reap what you haven't worked for. Others have done the hard labor, and you have benefited from their work." Don't always believe that you can only harvest because you exerted some labour. Naturally, it sounds unfair for one to reap without sowing but God is the only wise God. It's a grace provision of God, therefore embrace it as special privilege.

Such a phenomenon of divine benevolence was experienced by the children of Israel. Joshua 24:13 highlights God's testimonial of this experience, "And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat". As they entered the Promised Land, they benefited from what the inhabitants of the land had already done. They just entered in the labours of others. Ecclesiastes 2:28 (NKJV) states that, "For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind". The sinner in this context is laboring and the righteous just gets the harvest. This is harvesting where you did not sow.
