This shows you that one can receive the Holy Spirit upon being ministered to by another who is filled with the Holy Spirit. Our theme scripture presents a similar experience in Samaria, where Peter and John prayed for the new converts in Samaria to receive the Holy Spirit. Secondly, you can also ask from the Lord and receive as given by our Lord Jesus in Luke 11:13, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him". And when you ask don't wait to receive, rather receive at that moment because the Holy Spirit was poured out already from the day of Pentecost. Now it's your responsibility to receive Him. In whichever method for receiving the Holy Spirit, faith is a key catalytic factor. Receive by faith and not feelings. Galatians 3:14 states, "so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit". Whether you feel something or not it makes no difference, faith is the factor. If you want to receive the Holy Spirit today, say these words even now believing, "Father in Jesus name, I open my heart and receive the Holy Spirit into my heart right now, in Jesus name, Amen".
