It is necessary to be reminded of the fundamentals of our salvation in Christ Jesus. When He says it is by grace we are saved, it means we didn't have to qualify in any way. Our salvation is not based on what we have done in good works. Even our best and commendable behaviors were not enough to secure our salvation. God in His kindness sent Jesus to die in our place. We didn't even ask for this. This is God's grace. Don't slide into trusting your works. Don't derive your assurance of salvation from your good works. It is by grace through faith you are saved. No any work you were supposed to do. At one time God instructed Moses to make a brazen serpent and raise it on a pole. If any man who had been bitten by the fiery snakes would look at the serpent, they got healed (Numbers 21:6-9). That's all they needed. That is what you did in Christ, only believed and confessed His Lordship on your life (Romans 10:9). If you are not born again, believe in Jesus and confess His Lordship as guided at the end of this book. Follow the prayer of salvation there.
