Love and faith are some of the necessary catalysts for effective prayer. These factors form part of spiritual environment upon which prayer rides effectively. In our theme scripture Apostle Paul instructs on prayer and includes a vital note on the spiritual environment, "without wrath and doubting". Love and faith are the counter cures of wrath and doubt respectively. If you don't walk in love you corrupt your communication in prayer as you create a noisy environment in your spirit. 1 Corinthians 13:1 describes the indispensable position of love, "If I had the gift of being able to speak in other languages without learning them and could speak in every language there is in all of heaven and earth, but didn't love others, I would only be making noise" If you harbor wrath and hatred, your communication in prayer will be corrupted. Learn to forgive quickly if you are wronged. Make sure you keep your heart away from pollutants such as anger. This is why the Lord instructed in Matthew 5:23-24, "Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift". This means if one would go ahead to present the gift without such reconciliation, God will not accept it. This stresses the necessity of walking in love.

Also note that all kinds of prayers require faith to be effective. James 1:6-8 states, "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do".

With doubts you can't be effective in prayer. With faith you recognize God and you receive answers to prayers even if it may not seem so physically at the moment. Faith sees God and doesn't pay attention to the natural facts. Treasure love and walk by faith.
