Do you know that you were bought by God at a price? This is what God was getting across to the believers at Corinth in our opening scripture. This scripture clearly shows that your awareness and understanding about this truth helps you glorify God. Apostle Peter wrote to the Jewish Christians in diaspora, "You were bought, not with something that ruins like gold or silver, but with the precious blood of Christ, who was like a pure and perfect lamb" (1 Peter 1:18-19 NCV). The deep understanding of this spiritual truth helps you immensely to honor God in your life. This means that you do not belong to yourself. You fully belong to Jesus Christ. Acts 27:23 BLB records the passionate words of Apostle Paul during the sail to Rome, "For this night an angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve, stood by me". He knew and acknowledged that he belonged to God. Always acknowledge this truth in your life. Since God paid Christ's life for you, it means you are as valuable to God as His life. The price of an item shows its worth. No wonder the Lord's heartfelt prayer was for the world to know that God loves us just as He loved Him. John 17:23 WNT records this prayer, "I in them and Thou in me; that they may stand perfected in one; that the world may come to understand that Thou didst send me and hast loved them with the same love as that with which Thou hast loved me". With this truth any negative image of yourself vacates your heart. It doesn't matter whether someone ever talked you down or despised you, today the Lord through this devotional is talking you up. Just think about this, you are as valuable to God as Jesus' life and that is why His very life was the price He paid. Meditate on this amazing truth today and watch yourself grow.
