A child of God who is not assured of their salvation today and their secured future in Christ get easily swayed by satanic manipulations. These manipulations and attacks happen in the faculty of reasoning which is your mind. They often ask themselves, “Am I really saved? Is there really that great future as we have been told? The confident assurance of your salvation is key. He tells us to take this as a helmet that protects the head of the soldier. 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (NLT) concurringly instructs us, “But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation”. How do you know that you are saved? Firstly, ask yourself if you followed the bible way (principle) of receiving salvation as laid down in Romans 10:9-10. The principle is about believing with your heart and confessing with your mouth the Lordship of Jesus. This is your evidence of salvation. If you did what He said, then you must be certain He fulfiled His part too of recreating you. God cannot lie (Numbers 23:19). Following this, Romans 8:16 (NKJV) says, “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God”. This is an inward witness that you live with as a child of God. One who is not born again can’t have this witness of the Holy Spirit. This happens in your heart after confessing the Lordship of Jesus. The assurance of your salvation has nothing to do with your feelings. You don’t have to feel saved.

The other aspect of the hope of salvation is about the future we looked forward to. There are those who are swayed and tossed concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus and our spending of eternity with Him. 1 Thessalonians 1:10 assures us that in Christ we are delivered from the wrath to come. This shows us that a child of God is not a candidate for hell and lake of fire. The word of God is true and reliable evidence base of salvation lifting your assurance. You must yield to the word of God for the renewal of your mind. A divinely renewed mind is an armed mind which is a formidable wall of defense against the devil’s deceptive throw-ins of doubts into the mind.
