One treasure benefit in the package of Christ's redemptive work is physical healing and divine health. Our theme scripture tells us with firm certainty that Jesus carried our griefs and sorrows. The word grief is from a Hebrew word chŏlıy which means diseases. The CJB rendering states that, "In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God". This shows you that it is not God's will for you to be sick. As Jesus hung on the cross He was also ensuring that you live well in your body. What He went through becomes the legal basis for your health. It was sealed with His death. And in His resurrection, God created a new man who is superior to sickness with embedded divine health mechanism. Sometimes others think that our theme scripture does not really refer directly to physical diseases, but take an attentive look at a convincing collaborative account presented in Matthew 8:16-17 AMPC which says, "When evening came, they brought to Him many who were under the power of demons, and He drove out the spirits with a word and restored to health all who were sick. And thus He fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, He Himself took in order to carry away our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases". This account confirms that the physical healing was what Isaiah referred to in his prophecy given in our theme scripture. And if you are sick, you can rightfully receive healing for your body whose seal is Christ's death. You can say, "In the name of Jesus I receive healing for my body". He went to the cross to get you a life of wellness, free of sickness and disease. Live your life on the basis of the revelation of God's truth in His word and not on someone's experiences. One common thing in the earthly ministry of Jesus was healing of the sick. That was to show God's will for us to be free from and of sicknesses.
