THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF THE BLESSING
And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me. For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?— Genesis 30:29-30
Our opening scripture captures the words Jacob spoke to Laban as they negotiated the wages for his 14 year work besides being given Leah and Rachel as his wives. Jacob looked after Laban's livestock. Laban had recognized that God had blessed him because of Jacob (Genesis 30:27) and he didn't want Jacob to leave. Every child of God must be conscious of the blessing in them. Ephesians 1:3 tells us that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Don't be needs conscious but blessing conscious. You are the seed of Abraham. You are not an ordinary person. You are a carrier and dispenser of the blessing to your world. Jacob said to Laban, "You know well what my work has meant to you and how your livestock has flourished under my care. The little you had when I arrived has increased greatly; everything I did resulted in blessings for you" (Genesis 30:29-30 MSG). What was little got multiplied by the blessing.
No project is supposed to fail under the care of a child of God. What is little has to grow under your care. That is the transformative power of the blessing. Before you cry for more, grow what you have. The blessing is in you, don't look outside, look within and let it out. You may be in charge of the office or certain work. Don't allow the office go low under your care. Recognize the blessing and let it flow. The more you recognize the blessing the more it will flow through you and positively influence your world. Don't be need conscious be blessing conscious.
As a child of God, whatever you touch or involved in grows and prospers. It's the force of the blessing of the Lord at work in you. This is what makes you indispensable in a place and a hard to let go person. What comes into your hands doesn't deteriorate. Hallelujah. Deuteronomy 30:9 says, "Then the Lord your God shall make you abundantly prosperous in everything that you do, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your land; for the Lord will again delight over you for good, just as He delighted over your fathers". This is your heritage child of God.
