BE PATIENT UNTO THE COMING OF THE LORD

Levie Gomagoma James 5:8 AMP
You too, be patient; strengthen your hearts [keep them energized and firmly committed to God], because the coming of the Lord is near
James 5:8 AMP

James 5:7 (MSG) instructs us, "Meanwhile, friends, wait patiently for the Master's Arrival". One thing I will always remind you about is the coming of the Lord. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you started hearing such a message. God knew that already and that is why He says to you, "be patient". This is something you must always keep before you as you serve God and accomplish His purpose. Do not become engrossed in your personal pursuits of business and forget about the coming of the Lord. This present world, though our heritage, is not our home and it will be destroyed. Don't live your life like a person of this world. Philippians 3:20 (TLB) declares, "But our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is; and we are looking forward to his return from there". The NIV rendering says, "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ". Our homeland is heaven. We are citizens of heaven.

At the rapture of the Church we will leave this world. After seven years we will return to this earth to rule with Christ in the millennial reign (1,000 years). Thereafter, this present world will be destroyed and a new earth will replace it and the New Jerusalem city where the saints will live in shall descend from heaven. Revelation 21:1-2 records Apostle John's vision of this truth, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband".

Hear the warning words of the Lord Jesus in Luke 21:34 (NIV), "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap". Stay focused and don't allow yourself get lost into the world. Take advantage of His grace to stay strong every day and awake spiritually, patiently awaiting the Lord's return.

Prayer
Lord Jesus you are the King of my life. As I serve you, I look forward to your soon return where I will see you as you are and will be like you. Amen
