Genesis 8:22 (NLT) presents to us a law of sowing and harvesting that persists upon the earth. It records that, "As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night". This law asserts that you have to sow to have a harvest. This law is about input and outputs. In our theme scripture, Paul by the Spirit lays emphasis on this law indicating that how much we sow determines how much we harvest. The harvest is connected to sowing. In that context he was referring to giving as sowing. Just like the law of gravity, when properly acted upon, this law benefits you. But if ignored one can have undesirable consequences. In Luke 6:38 the Lord Jesus spoke in relation to this law saying, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom". He lets us know that giving is not a waste. When you give to the Lord you are sowing and there is a harvest of blessings. As a law it is fixed universally as indicated in Genesis 8:22 and it works always irrespective of location and personalities involved.

The law of sowing and reaping governs every sphere of life. It is wisdom to understand it and leverage on it for your advancement in life. It is a law of progress and growth because seed has capacity for multiplication. For instance your commitment in studying the word of God is counted as sowing which assures you a harvest of spiritual growth. In business, you inject capital which is seed for a harvest of revenue. Your seed sown, in whichever form, determines you harvest. Those who stay conscious of this law they reap the benefits. Proverbs 24:4 says, "The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing".

This scriptures shows us how laziness camouflages as excuses for not leveraging on the law of sowing and harvesting. This is what makes a beggarly person and society. Make laziness unacceptable in your life's zone. Always take advantage of the law of sowing and harvesting.
