Our open scripture tells us that Angels are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who inherit salvation. He is talking of about those who believe in Jesus. We have angelic forces which help get God’s purpose done in our lives in this earth. Hebrews 12:22 states that we have to an innumerable company of angels. They outnumber the human population. These angels are spirits, which means the natural eye can’t see them except in some cases where they can appear in their lesser form (appearing as men). Let me give you some scriptures that showcase different operations of angels in line with God’s purpose and for His people. Just before God rained fire of judgment in Sodom, two angels blinded the evil men of Sodom who pounded over the door of Lot’s house (Genesis 19:11). With the blindness they couldn’t fulfil their nasty and filthy conceived plans. Psalm 34:7 (NLT) declares, “For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him”.

One time Peter was arrested awaiting an impending execution. Acts 12:5 records: “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him”. As the church continued to pray something remarkable happened as highlighted from verse 7-8: “Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.” What an experience of angelic ministration Peter had and he was gotten out of prison before the angel vanished. Take notice that this angelic intervention was a response of the Church’s prayers.

This shows you that angels go on ministry errands when we pray. Angelic ministrations are God’s gracious gift to the children of God. They can execute powerful ministrations. However you are not supposed to worship them for they are servants.
