To successfully live a consecrated life, you must first understand the power of God's grace. God's grace is about God's provisions for and towards you. What has God's grace done for you? Our opening scripture tells us God's grace teaches us to live soberly, righteously and godly while denying ungodliness and worldly lusts. This is the empowerment of God's grace for you. God's grace has made you holy and righteous, which means you are given ability to do what is right in God's eyes. This is what is portrayed in Colossians 1:21-22, "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight". It is in God's righteousness that you are blameless before God. Awake to this truth and be empowered to live above sin.

1 Corinthians 15:34 proclaims to us "Awake to righteousness and sin not". This mean when you understand and get conscious of God's righteousness in you, you walk in dominion over sin. The realization of what God's grace has done for you empowers you to live in consecration. Christ Himself has become your sanctification (1 Corinthians 1:31) meaning that He is your very sanctification and power of consecration. This is what God's grace has done. If you are not living right, hear God's word from 1 Corinthians 5:7 (NASB), "Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed". He tells you to live right because you are unleavened (holy, consecrated). Leaven in this case refers to sin or corruption.

Notice the tenses of the underlined part, it's in present form. This means this is your state in the now. Be conscious of what God in His grace has made you in Christ. The grace provisions of God are your empowerment to live a consecrated life. Under grace, sin has no dominion over you (Romans 6:14).
