THE END OF ALL THINGS IS NEAR

Levie Gomagoma 1 Peter 4:7
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer
— 1 Peter 4:7

The bible is the only book that is timeless and ageless and doesn’t require updating. It is most reliable source of information and God’s testimony about the past, the present and future of this World and His people. Do not be deceived by the worldly cunningness of men parading as philosophical prowess. Everything will go in the direction of the prophetic word of God as given to us in the bible. The Lord declared, “Heaven and earth may disappear. But I promise you not even a period or comma will ever disappear from the Law. Everything written in it must happen” (Matthew 5:18 CEV). He also collaboratively stated in Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away”. His Word is trustworthy. The past, the present and the future of this world is all revealed in the eternal treasures of His Word. Our opening scripture tells us about the end of all things being near. This tells you that things in this world will not just continue the way it has been. Don’t be too comfortable in this world as if it’s your final destination. The current world will come to an end. There will be a new heaven and earth (2 Peter 3:13).

Let me remind you of the days of Noah. God told Noah to build an ark because the flood was coming. People thought it was a joke and that their affairs and programs would continue as usual. A day of awakening came and sadly it was too late for many who thought Noah had lost his mind. In Matthew 24:37-39 (NET) the Lord Jesus related what happened in Noah’s days with what will happen in the end times when He shall return to this world. He stated: “For just like the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. For in those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah

entered the ark. And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man”. When the flood came, all the plans about weddings, parties and business halted suddenly as they faced the destruction which had already come at their doors. It was too late for any preparation, God had closed the door of the ark (Genesis 7:16). The end of things had come upon them. According to the scriptures, we are waiting for the rapture of Church where the Lord Jesus will snatch away His church (1 Thessalonian 4:16-17) and then terrible times will come with emergence of the totalitarian administration headed by the Antichrist. Many who will be saved in those days, will be heavily persecuted (Revelation 13). It will be a period characterized by martyrdom. Then the Lord will descend from heaven in His second advent (Revelation 19:11-16). All these events will happen just as the bible indicates. Don’t allow anyone deceive you with vain words and don’t even deceive yourself. If the day of the coming of the Lord was near in Apostle Peter’s day, then it must be nearer today.

Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for opening my eyes concerning the end times. Your Word is the truth I hold to in this life. Thank you Lord. I look forward to meeting you at that glorious appearing.
