And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment— 1 Kings 3:28
In Luke 7:35 the Lord Jesus remarked: “But wisdom is justified of all her children”. He meant wisdom is shown and vindicated by its children-fruits. These children-fruits refers to character, works of service, miracles and great works in one’s life. One time the Jewish people expressed their astoundment about Jesus: “And when the Sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing Him were astonished, saying, from whence hath this man these things? And what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?” Divine wisdom was observed in Christ’s life. That was the life of King Solomon as shown in the opening scripture. It records, “for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment”. The excellent judgments he passed was divine wisdom in action. Furthermore, the divine wisdom was observed in the splendid exhibition of operations in Solomon’s kingdom. Excellence and beauty characterized His kingdom.
The Queen of Sheba travelled from Ethiopia to test Solomon’s wisdom. 1 Kings 10:4-5 records: “And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built. And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her”. She was totally baffled with the excellence exuded in Solomon’s kingdom. Wisdom produces excellence. In 1 Kings 10:7 she conceded: “Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceeded the fame which I heard”.
This is what happens when God’s wisdom is working in your life. God’s wisdom does not produce mediocrity. Don’t waste time in trying to justify yourself before people, instead allow God’s wisdom to function in you mightily through yielding to His Word. That wisdom becomes your defense through its fruits of excellence.
